From a research conducted in 2014, in the USA, ‘Social Media Use and Perceived Social Isolation Among Young Adults in the U.S.’, found that the usage of social media affect teens’ sense of insecurity. It stated that teenagers who spend more than two hours a day on social networking are more likely to feel lonely.
Today, I have a question to ask you that may give you a headache. Do you know the difference between sympathy, empathy, and compassion? Admittedly, I’m confused. I never really put much thought about these three words and their meanings. Most likely, I’ve used these words incorrectly and interchangeably without realizing it! Don’t worry; it’s not just you, but English speakers use them wrong, too. I can only hypothesize why we use them erroneously; I believe these words resonate deeply with your feelings. Thus, we use these words according to how we feel.
